Love Running for Hong Kong? Action it!

We believe that LOVE can change our society!

Looking back when we were living under the Lion Rock in the '70s, Hong Kong people were always courageous enough to tackle any difficulty, as well as willing to help each other out. This indomitable spirit brings back many inspiring memories.

In this day and age, can that touching spirit be rekindled once again?

I trust that where there's a will there's a way.

Next month, the inaugural “Lifewire Run” will seek to unite all of us together. No matter if it's the 3km or 10km run for individual, group or corporate entries, or the 1km or 3km family run with your sons and daughters held at Charles K. Kao Auditorium – known as the“Golden Egg” of Science Park – you will be able to find the Hong Kong fighting spirit of old. The funds raised will be donated to young patients who suffer from serious illness; assisting their huge medical fees and daily expenses.

I have visited these patients and they all treasure every healing opportunity and are full of optimism. I therefore hope that you will wholeheartedly participate in the run as we target to raise over $1 million. Your action will definitely represent a loving big step.

We are glad to receive the assistance of artist Yan Ng, who has invited a group of artistes, including Leung Ka Ki, Kathy Yuen, Endy Chow and Bryant Mak to be the main characters in our micro film promoting “Old Hong Kong”. Haven’t you ever seen our micro film promotions posted outside the Eastern Harbour Tunnel, inside MTR stations, in cinemas and some restaurants?

What's more? Specially designed medals and certificates have been created for the runners, while a series of limited-edition souvenirs embodying “Old Hong Kong”designed by artist Eric Kot, will be sold. Also, the venue will be decorated like “Old Hong Kong” and feature a “Lai Yuen” booth. What's more? The singer Phil Lam and K. C. Lee will come to sign with support, too. That must bring lots of fun and laughter to participants.
